The Belgian premiere of Karl Jenkins' latest work: One World.
Performed by the Limburg Concert Choir & Symphony Orchestra Concertato
Conducted by conductor Steven van Kempen.
It promises to be a wonderful program. After a number of top works from various oratorios by composer Karl Jenkins, his latest composition One World will be performed by some 240 concert singers, symphony orchestra and soloists. This new work fits in entirely with this time of climate issues and human rights violations.
Conductor Steven van Kempen is working with Jenkins on the performances of One World for the Netherlands, Belgium and the United States. Van Kempen has been an active performer of all of Jenkins' oratorios with large choir, soloists and orchestra since 2010. Jenkins' special request to perform the work for the first time in 3 countries is therefore a special honor for his work and conducting in the Netherlands & Belgium.
Karl Jenkins himself says about the piece: "The title of the first part sums up what the project is about: repairing the world. A peaceful world, that treats nature and ecological issues with respect and where human rights are universal. Where truth is truth and news is never fake. Where leaders do not lie, transparency is a given and all religions can live together in peace."
It is not the first time that Jenkins has written a piece in which peace and tolerance play a role. He previously composed The Armed Man , A Mass for Peace and The Peacemakers . Works by the composer also frequently appeared in the Classical Top 400. These included the Requiem , Stabat Mater and Palladio
